Easter

We started Easter with dying eggs using baking soda color paste (baking soda, food coloring & a little water) and vinegar. It was cool and delivered great colored eggs.

On Easter morning we had an Easter egg hunt at our house, then another at Darin and Melinda's. we brought quiche & French toast and had a great morning that led to an afternoon

After naps we played with the bunny that the Easter bunny brought to Natalie- okie dokie.

After that we cleaned up the patio in preparation for summer alfresco dinners

Spring fever

We spent a good portion of last Saturday sitting outside. It was the perfect temperature and even with the last bits of snow remaining we can feel spring

Ear nose and throat

Natalie had her second only ear infection back in December and we hadn't been able to kick it, so we made an appointment with the ENT to see what he could do. He recommended that she have tubes put in, her adenoid out and tonsils removed. We scheduled surgery for two weeks after that visit.

Last Thursday we took her in for the procedures. The doctor said that her tonsils were so infected they had abscessed into her throat - we just thought they were big! Her adenoid was so over grown and infected that it was completely blocking her Eustachian tubes, preventing them from draining which is why she couldn't get over the ear infection.

We are so glad it is done and over. It took a while for her to wake up after the procedure, and she had a rough 24 hours, but she was off her pain medicine after a few days and although the doctor said her recovery would be longer and more painful than expected, she doesn't seem to be bothered at all. Her voice has changed-a result of either being able to finally breathe while she is talking or the swelling in her throat.

Apple brownies

A while ago I pinned a recipe for apple brownies and decided to make them the other night. Man were they amazing!

Birthday

We celebrated my dad's birthday with a family dinner and cake at our house. Natalie loved helping grandpa blow out the candles and we all enjoyed celebrating such a wonderful dad

Christmas

Christmas was a lot of fun this year.  Both kids had a great time opening presents; although, they both would have been fine with a lot less.  Philip, after opening one toy, didn't want to open any more and still hasn't played with some of the toys that Natalie opened for him.

We enjoyed breakfast and then took naps and had dinner at my mom's house.

SNOW

The first snow fall after we came home from Cancun we got out and played.  It was exhausting but super fun.
