Summer Photos

At the end of March we met the wonderful Kirstin Roper out at the Great Salt Lake to have some family photos taken.  It is amazing what this woman can do with a field, some dried weeds and a family - she is an exceptional photographer and we love being with her and love the results.  Here are a few of our favorites, at always it was so hard picking a few to share here.

Phil and I also had a few of just us taken.  We haven't had photos taken since our engagement photos and I have to say we like these even more.

Christmas

Christmas came so quickly this year, in fact, this whole year has flown by!

We started by decorating the tree right before we went to Boston.

Philip playing under the tree, up to this point, he could only crawl backwards

Natalie decorating the tree

A few weeks later, it was Christmas eve.  Every year since we had Natalie, we have taken family photos in front of the tree.  As she grew it got harder and harder to get a photo with everyone looking at the camera at the same time.  This year was probably the hardest.

Almost everyone was smiling and looking at the camera...

Thankfully we got a few, although, we might try again, to see if we can get a better one.

Christmas eve, Natalie spread the Reindeer food all around the yard, we put out cookies and a mug of Sprite for Santa and three carrots for his reindeer.  Well, it worked and Santa came and there were presents for everyone to open.

Here are the presents after Santa wrapped and arranged them under the tree.

Christmas morning, Philip woke up at 7:00 and Phil took him to play downstairs until Natalie woke up.  Natalie woke up at 8:30 and was happy to watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer until the rest of the family showed up to watch the unwrapping.

Philip was SO tired by the time all the presents were open and passed out on Phil's shoulder. He has turned into a total cuddle bunny.

There is Christmas in a nutshell

Family Photos

We had the lovely Kirstin Roper take our family photos once again, over the summer...it just took me a while to get them on the blog.  We met her at a local park back in late July, and we are very happy with the results.  If you remember, she took the photos back when Philip was a little peanut and also back in July 2010, when we were still a family of three and Philip was still cooking in my belly.

Here are a few favorites - and believe me it was hard to choose these few - we had hundreds to choose from!

Photos Grandma took

Natalie and I went downtown to meet Godfather and Grandma for lunch. While walking to get a sandwich we came across a fire hydrant that the city had left open for some reason.  Natalie is fascinated with fire trucks & hydrants so this was extremely exciting to see!  Godfather got her close enough to the water to put her hand in it - pretty awesome for a Monday afternoon!

Family of four

We had some family/newborn photos taken before Philip turned two weeks old. Kirstin Roper took the photos and we couldn't be happier! I love that they were taken in our home, and I think show how we live and who we are.

Here are a few of my favorites. We had over 500 photos to choose from, so it was hard to find favorites!

And here is the post Kirstin did on her website: http://kirstinroper.com/blog/?p=1206
